Why it’s fun cooking for your family
Why is it fun cooking for your family? Some say it brings the family together others say it’s a tradition they were brought up doing. Some says it brings you closer to your family.
I interviewed Leigh Ann B. of Virginia to get her input on cooking for her family. Leigh Ann loves to cook and entertain. She shares a passion that many others have and that’s cooking. I asked Leigh Ann a few questions.
1krown:Does cooking for your family bring you closer to them? Leigh Ann: Cooking is a good way to bring anyone closer together, friends and family.
1krown:What drives your passion of cooking? Leigh Ann: I would have to say the desire for cooking has been passed down to me. My mom grew up not having much she said my grandma made everything from scratch and there wasn’t a day that went by that there wasn’t a meal on the table in spite of the hard times. Growing up I would love to stay in the kitchen and help as much as I could while mom was cooking. It was fascinating to me how she could whip up such tasteful meals using very simple pantry ingredients. There was a homemade dinner on the table every night. It has really taught me a lot watching mom and hearing her stories on my grandma in the kitchen.
1krown: Do you believe that spending time in the kitchen together builds a strong relationship? Leigh Ann: YES- With your children and spouse. I find it more important to sit down at the table and eating as a family. Growing up for me dinner time was always filled with so much conversation and laughter. I plan to bring the same to my dinner table at home.
1krown:Do you have a favorite meal you like to cook for your family? Leigh Ann: I love-making different food other than American. Chinese Italian would be my favorites. Not only do you get to share a wonderful meal with the family, but you are learning about different cultures and foods.
1krown:Is it important to have traditions in your family? Leigh Ann: Very much so trust me there is many in my family when it comes to food, and dinner time.
1krown:How important to you is it to involve your family in cooking? Leigh Ann: I think that it is very important to get your kids involved. I think the kitchen is a very happy place and always seems to be the center of conversation with my family.
1krown:If you could change one thing about cooking for your family what would it be? Leigh Ann: Without sounding conceited I don’t think that I would change anything. I think as long as you love to do it and have fun with it you cannot go wrong.
1krown: At what age did you start cooking? Leigh Ann: Does licking the spoon count? Younger than I can remember by the stories I have heard.
1krown:What advantages are there for cooking for your family? Leigh Ann: Everything that I have talked on above I count as an advantage.
1krown:If you had to do over would you change anything? Leigh Ann: NOTHING
Well there you have it everyone. Cooking for your family can be a life changing event. It brings you closer to the ones you love while you are doing what you love. Spending time with your loved ones is the most important thing you can do.
It’s important to have traditions in your family. It gives your children the chance to learn things their relatives did and it will also be teaching your children lessons they will carry into their family one day. Those lessons we learn from our families are priceless.
So get up and get to cooking. Learn new and fun things. You will come closer to the ones you love and you will be doing what you love. So the next time you are thinking oh let’s go get pizza just stop for a second and think then turn around and head to the kitchen.

So you work from home uh …
So you work from home uh. You get to make the big bucks and work whenever you want. What about people who get up each day and go into the office. They don’t make much do they? You get to do what you want when you want.
How do some get so lucky? Would it be because they are put on this pedestal of being perfect? I feel bad for those that do the hard work by coming in. The come in and work their butt of to make enough money to put gas in their car while some get to sit on a comfy couch and watch tv and do an hour or so worth of work and make enough to buy a new car.
That is just not fair or am I wrong? I see people struggling to everyday struggling to get their medicine to save their life. That’s pretty sad. Why cant everyone be treated equal? Why doesn’t everyone work in an office unless they have their own business that is run totally from home?
Is it fair to make more money working from home then the ones that come into work?
Is it fair to make people feel less important because they aren’t as talented as the home workers?
What about holidays. Is it fair to get paid days for holidays if you work at home? I mean you already off and not working how can you get paid.
Should work for home people get treated better than the come in staff?
How do you feel about this?
We are wondering what you think about these situations. Unfortunately this stuff happens all the time in some places. I think it’s good to talk about it and make others aware of some of these things. I was also asked to ask how some people find perfect work at home jobs for these big companies out here.
So where do you think someone can find these jobs?
In short you should try to enjoy the job you have regardless because at least it is a job and many people can’t say that right now.
Think on those questions and again enjoy what you already have.
Peace
So they are calling for snow
So they are calling for another snow storm tomorrow. Not really sure what time it will move in or how much we will get. I have heard anywhere for 1 to 4 inches but no one really knows.
What I think is funny is when they call for snow everyone heads straight to the grocery store to get milk and eggs and of course bread. I am not sure I understand why.
So my questions are
- Why do people go buy all the milk and eggs they can when they call for snow?
- How are you going to cook if the power goes out?
- How are you going to keep this food from going bad if the power goes out?
- What if we don’t get what they are calling for and you have all this milk and eggs?
Give me your answer to these. I would love to know what others think about this.
What would you do?
What would you do if you were in my shoes and had to deal with this type of issue?
I sit here sometimes and just wonder how can someone so simple-minded and have no common sense have a job like the one he has. I just don’t get it. I mean come on the dude can’t type an email without asking a hundred times how to do it. Dude you been working for 30 + years what tha heck you mean.
It’s like his knowledge is stuck on the ground floor. It is sad how many times a day you have to repeat yourself. Sometimes I feel like recording what I say so I can just hit the play button. Make you just want to be rude and that’s not my style.
Like how many times in a day do I have to answer the same question over and over again? Shouldn’t you know the answer after I have given it to you 50 times today why you still asking that question. I just don’t get it.
Can someone tell me how can you be in your 60’s and been working for 30 + years and you still can’t figure out how to transfer a phone call? Does that make sense to you? Someone help me out on this one.
I bet a broken record won’t repeat itself and much as I have to do daily. And don’t miss a day because it just goes straight down hill. The poor person that covers me has to deal with it and that’s just horrible. It’s bad enough for one to deal with it.
Sometimes I wonder was he dropped on his head as a baby because they lack of sense doesn’t make sense. I guess anything is possible. Maybe he does it to see how far he can push me? Hmm he does a good job it that’s the case.
I wonder is it a test we can give him. Then again he wouldn’t get it and I will be stuck explaining it a 100 times. What is really bad it is starts first thing and last all day. Do you know how long the day can be when you are dealing with something like this?
I try to be helpful and kind and I try really hard to not so that this is driving me insane. Thank goodness for blogs LOL.
I would like to know what you would do if you were in my shoes? Be nice if you decide to comment please.
Best regards,
